Cards

33 cards

Each card is checked by the OpenEduCat team before it is listed. Nothing on this page runs on AI or needs a key.

Pass the clap

Ages 3 to 55 minNothing neededSocial

Sit in a circle. One child claps once and turns to the next, who passes the clap on. Count how fast it goes all the way round.

Steps

  1. Sit in a circle, all facing in.
  2. Clap once and turn left; the next child copies.
  3. Time one lap round, then try to beat it.

Variations

  • Pass a hand squeeze instead, in silence.
  • On “switch”, the clap changes direction.

Sound hunt

Ages 3 to 510 minNothing neededLanguage

Everyone closes their eyes for ten seconds and listens. Then go round the circle: each child names one sound they heard.

Weather dance

Ages 3 to 510 minNothing neededMovement

The teacher names a kind of weather and everyone moves like it: rain with fingertips, wind with arms, sun with a slow stretch, snow with soft steps.

Name rhythm

Ages 3 to 55 minNothing neededLanguage

Clap the syllables of each name round the circle: A-nan-ya is three claps. Everyone echoes the claps back.

Count the chairs

Ages 3 to 510 minClassroom objectsNumber

Count the chairs in the circle together. Take one away and count again. Add two and count again. Say what changed.

Feather breath

Ages 3 to 55 minPaperCalm

Each child holds a thin strip of paper at arm's length and blows gently so it moves but does not fly away. Slow breaths, three times.

Pass the smile

Ages 3 to 55 minNothing neededSocial, Calm

One child smiles at the next, who smiles at the next, all the way round the circle without a word.

Who is missing

Ages 3 to 510 minNothing neededSocial, Language

Everyone closes their eyes while one child hides behind the teacher's chair. Open your eyes and say who is missing.

Echo song

Ages 3 to 55 minNothing neededNumber, Movement

Questions teachers ask

Who writes the cards?

The OpenEduCat team writes the cards and checks each one before it is listed. Nothing on this page runs on AI.

Do I need an account to print?

Yes. Every card is here to read, and printing a card or a week needs a free teacher account. Sign in once on each device.

Can I show an activity on the board?

Yes. Add Today's activity from More widgets on the board. It shows one card from this deck each day and carries the deck with it, so it keeps working when the connection drops.

What do the materials mean?

None needs nothing at all. Paper needs a sheet or a strip each. Classroom objects uses things every room has, such as chairs, books or pencils. Outdoors needs space outside.
