Saved screens and versions

Every screen is saved to your account as you go, with earlier versions you can bring back.

A screen is the layout of widgets you teach from. Every change is saved to your account within half a second, and the top bar says what happened.

What the top bar says

  • "Saving…" while a change is on its way.
  • "Saved · just now", or "Saved · 5 min ago".
  • "Saved on this device, syncs when you are back online" while you are offline.
  • "Could not save, trying again" when the account did not answer; the board keeps trying.

The Saved screens menu

  1. Open the screen menu in the top bar and choose Saved screens.
  2. Each screen has its own menu: Open, Rename, Move to folder, Restore an earlier version and Delete.
  3. Restore lists the versions your account keeps and keeps the current state before it restores.

Limits

  • Free keeps 10 screens. The 11th shows "Limit reached": delete one, or move to Teacher Plus.
  • On Free, your account keeps the last 10 versions of each screen for 30 days.
  • Teacher Plus keeps any number of screens and the last 30 versions of each, with no time limit.

Two devices, and locked screens

  • If two devices change the same widget, the newer change stays and the other copy is kept as a version. The board says "Updated on another device. The earlier copy is under Restore an earlier version."
  • If your account holds more screens than your plan keeps, every screen stays in your account and opens read-only. Use Choose which 10 to keep to pick the 10 you can change. Nothing is deleted.
