Refund policy

All sales are final. Try everything on the Free plan first. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current term.

Version 0.1.1

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to every paid plan of OpenEduCat Tools: Teacher Plus (bought by an individual teacher) and School (bought by a school, coaching centre or other organisation). Placing an order means you have read this policy and agree to it.

2. No refunds

Fees for plans, renewals, upgrades and seat changes are non-refundable, in whole or in part, for any reason, including: not using the plan; changing your mind; a change of job, school or timetable; a device or browser that does not meet the published requirements; or a feature you expected that the plan does not list. Support staff cannot make exceptions. The only exceptions are those in section 7.

3. Evaluate before you buy

Everything the board and the tools do is available on the Free plan with no time limit and no card. The pricing page lists exactly what each paid plan adds, and the School plan has a 60-day trial with no card. We expect you to evaluate on Free or on the trial. Not having evaluated is not grounds for a refund.

4. Delivery and immediate start

A paid plan starts the moment payment is processed and the plan is applied to your account. You agree that the service starts immediately. Where the law gives consumers a right to withdraw from a digital service within 14 days, you expressly request immediate performance at checkout and acknowledge that this right is lost once the plan is active (see section 7).

5. Cancelling and downgrading

You can cancel any time from your account page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the plan stays active to the end of the paid term and then returns to Free. Nothing you made is deleted: screens beyond the 10 of the Free plan stay in your account read-only until you choose which 10 to keep; printables carry the watermark and the footer line again. Downgrades and seat reductions on the School plan take effect at the end of the current term.

6. Chargebacks and disputes

If you have a billing concern, write to billing@openeducat.org first; we answer within five working days. Opening a chargeback or payment dispute before we have answered is a breach of these terms. We may suspend the paid plan while a dispute is open and may refuse future paid plans to an account that disputes a charge we have shown to be valid. Payments are processed by Stripe for OpenEduCat Inc., the seller of record; Stripe's dispute process also applies.

7. The only exceptions

We refund in these cases only: (a) you were charged twice for the same term, or charged an amount different from the price shown at checkout (we refund the difference); (b) a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law grants a withdrawal right that cannot be waived, within that period, less any part of the service already used where the law allows; (c) the plan could not be applied to your account at all and we could not fix it within ten working days. Refunds go to the original payment method through Stripe.

8. Price changes

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. A change takes effect at your next renewal. If you do not accept it, cancel before the renewal.

9. Service changes

We may change or retire features with notice on the changelog. Retiring a feature listed for your plan during a paid term does not create a refund right; where we retire a listed feature we extend the term by the proportion it was listed for, at our discretion.

10. Taxes

Prices shown include the tax OpenEduCat Inc. must charge for your billing country, calculated and collected through Stripe Tax; the invoice shows it. We do not refund taxes separately.

11. Governing law

This policy follows the law of the State of Delaware, United States, like the terms of service. If you buy as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country, including in the EU, the UK and India (Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020).
